Rauriser Hochalm cable cars

Bird of prey station with flight demonstrations

The Rauriser Hochalmbahn, a 6-person cable car, takes you up to our "family mountain" Hochalm at 1,780 m in just a few minutes. The bird of prey observatory is located directly at the Hochalm hut. The otherwise so shy owls and birds of prey can be experienced up close here. The behaviour and habits of these partly endangered animals are explained in about 40 minutes. Demonstrations: 11:00 and 14:30.

King of the air

Golden eagles, griffon vultures and bearded vultures - these are the kings of the skies in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The largest birds of the Alps are examined more closely in this exhibition with integrated cinema, revealing some of the "private life" of the birds of prey.

In the "Valley of the Vultures", the nearby Krumltal, you can find more information about these birds of prey along the educational trail. On your own or as part of a guided hike, you can also observe the "kings of the air" live there.
