Advent Markets in the National Park Region

Atmospheric Advent markets

The children take a spin on the historic carousel while their parents warm their hands with a cup of punch. And then look over the shoulder of the basket weaver at his centuries-old craftsmanship. That and much more is Advent in the Holiday Region National Park Hohe Tauern. We have put together some Advent highlights for you.

Salzburger mountain advent in the Großarltal

The Grossarltal is atmospheric and authentic in the run-up to Christmas. Highlights are the elaborately handcrafted nativity scene trail and the extensive family programme. Like hardly any other Advent market, the Salzburg Mountain Advent in the Grossarl Valley emphasises authenticity and tradition.

On regional products and a balanced mix of crafts and food. Singers and musicians perform old Christmas carols to the accompaniment of the steady crackling of the fire, which is only interrupted now and then by the ringing of bells from passing horse-drawn carriages.

The Salzburg Mountain Advent is open from Friday to Sunday, from November 21 to December 21, 2025, each day from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Real Advent romance in the Wildkogel-Arena

Atmosphere at Neukirchner Advent
The Neukirchen Advent (December 12-14, 2025) is dedicated to the traditions of the Pinzgau region and traditional craftsmanship. The beautifully decorated stalls offer regional and handmade products, from Advent wreaths to wooden toys and ceramics. Don't miss the Christmas readings and a visit to the small petting zoo with donkeys and goats. An unforgettable experience during the Neukirchen pre-Christmas season is a horse-drawn carriage ride with robust Noriker horses.

"Advent a de Berg" in Bramberg
Bramberg celebrates a "somewhat different" Advent with glass art and Christmas cribs. The "Advent a de Berg" (December 6-7, 2025) at the Bramberg Village Pavilion attracts true folk music fans. The famous Meissnitzer Band and the Tauernecho provide a Christmas atmosphere with typical Pinzgauer delicacies. Visitors can also enjoy a "cozy-warm" experience in the Salzburg Wool Barn, where they can learn about incense rituals and how Pinzgauer mountain sheep wool is knitted and felted.
