Hiking in the National Park Region

Alpine summer in the SalzburgerLand

With 266 three-thousand-meter peaks and 342 glaciers, nature plays a paramount role in the 20 villages and 13 valleys of the Holiday Region National Park Hohe Tauern. The largest nature reserve in Central Europe invites you to discover its treasures and secrets on beautiful hikes and experience real adventures.

Hikers, trekkers and mountaineers will find the best conditions in the Hohe Tauern National Park: well-marked trails and alpine paths, farmed alpine pastures and mountain huts. Countless routes invite you to discover the mountain world of the Hohe Tauern. In order to better understand the special features as well as the ecological, socio-cultural and economic connections around the Hohe Tauern National Park, there are numerous, interactive visitor and educational facilities such as themed trails and exhibitions, but also a wide range of guided full-day and half-day tours with the national park rangers. Trekking tours lasting several days with luggage transport can also be booked here.
