Whether classic or skating, beginner or advanced, cross-country skiing enthusiasts can expect impressive cross-country skiing pleasure in the Holiday Region National Park Hohe Tauern.
The offer ranges from fantastic high-altitude and panoramic trails to perfectly lit trails for evening training rounds to extensive valley trails along the Salzach.
The Hochmoorloipe in Mittersill is approx. 10 km long and offers a breathtaking view of the majestic peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park. This trail is suitable for beginners as well as experienced cross-country skiers.
The high-altitude trail in Hochkrimml is 12 km long and lies at an altitude of 1,640 to 1,900 metres above sea level. The trail is particularly suitable for advanced cross-country skiers.
In the Grossarl Valley, the Hüttschlag cross-country ski trail begins after the village centre and is around 12 km long. Here, variants for beginners and advanced skiers are available.
The Sonnenloipe in Sportgastein has a length of 8 km and is located at an altitude of 1,600 to 1,700 metres. From here you have a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

Nationalpark WinterCard
The National Park WinterCard offers over 40 bonus services for your unforgettable winter holiday in the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region. It is valid from 1 December to 15 April and is available at participating accommodation. With the card you receive attractive reductions for five museums. Admission to sports facilities such as indoor swimming pools, indoor tennis courts and indoor ice rinks is also reduced. In addition, you receive discounts on the purchase or rental of winter sports equipment and the latest equipment.
