Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region in the SalzburgerLand

The Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region (in German language: Ferienregion Nationalpark Hohe Tauern GmbH) is an official holiday region in the SalzburgerLand and comprises 18 towns and villages surrounding the Hohe Tauern National Park. Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region is a tourism organisation. Its role is to develop and market the national park region for tourism, to coordinate the activities of the local tourism associations, and to develop joint tourism products and offers. This explicitly includes promoting awareness of the National Park and supporting the region’s development in a manner consistent with the National Park’s principles.

The responsibilities of the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region include:

  • the development and implementation of advertising, sales promotion and public relations
  • the coordination and consolidation of the advertising and marketing measures of the local tourist boards
  • the creation and implementation of new comprehensive tourism packages
  • the establishment of a supra-local regional tourism management system involving the local tourism authorities
  • the promotion of awareness of the national park and the strengthening of the national park-compliant development of the national park region
  • the exercise of trading licences required for the fulfilment of the aforementioned tasks
  • cooperation with organisations that contribute to the achievement of the company’s objectives, in particular Österreich Werbung, SalzburgerLand Tourismus GmbH and Großglockner-Hochalpenstraßen AG
     

Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region is a company with the following shareholding structure:

30% Land Salzburg Beteiligungen GmbH

25% SalzburgerLand Tourismus GmbH

10% Salzburger Nationalparkfonds

5% Großglockner Hochalpenstraßen AG

30% is held by the following shareholders:  TVB Bad Gastein, TVB Bramberg, TVB Bruck-Fusch, TVB Embach, TVB Großarltal, TVB Kaprun, TVB Krimml-Hochkrimml, TVB Mittersill-Hollersbach-Stuhlfelden , TVB Neukirchen , TVB Niedernsill , TVB Piesendorf , TVB Rauris , TVB Taxenbach , TVB Uttendorf , TVB Wald-Königsleiten
