Outstanding sustainability

The Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for tourist destinations

At the end of 2025, the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region was awarded the Austrian Eco-Label as a sustainable tourism destination. Many companies in the region are already certified, whilst others are currently undergoing the certification process.

Following a preparatory phase lasting around 1.5 years, the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region underwent a two-day audit by an independent auditor at the end of October 2025.

With this award, the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region is demonstrating its commitment to sustainable tourism development. At the same time, cooperation with the region’s already certified companies is being strengthened and the certification chain for tourism offerings is being further expanded.

We are working together to use resources wisely, further develop sustainable tourism offerings and secure long-term regional economic growth. In this way, we are contributing to a future worth living in the Hohe Tauern National Park region.
