Fishing
Unique natural landscapes, tranquil lakes and ponds
With its clear rivers such as the Rauriser, Hüttwinkl and Seidlwinkelache and their tributaries, the Raurisertal offers a fishing water network of around 45 km in length. This is mainly home to brown and rainbow trout as well as char. What makes fishing in Rauris so special is the outstanding quality of the fishing waters. The water is pure and clear, and the channel is naturally shaped with meanders and pools - depressions in the stream bed with water accumulation - as well as corresponding bank vegetation, mostly alder. In addition to fly fishing in the stream, anglers can also fish in the pond at Gasthof Weixen.
Bad Gastein with its Gasteiner Ache is a paradise for anglers looking forward to a special experience. At the Waldgasthof Angertal, fishing fans can live out their passion. An idyllic white-water pond awaits them here, which promises real fishing fun for everyone.
The Grossarltal is a true paradise for sport and recreational anglers. The clear mountain waters of the Großarler Ache, which flows all the way to the Hüttschlager valley head, make fly fishing a unique experience. The clean streams from the extensive alpine valleys and from the glaciers of the Hohe Tauern provide an excellent habitat for our native fish. There are calm river passages, large pools, rapids, rock undercutting and gravel banks. These are surrounded by lush meadows and beautifully situated alpine pastures. Alpine salmon, mountain trout, grayling and char live here.
