Harvest festival season
Music, crafts und more
As summer slowly transitions into autumn, the air becomes crisper in the mornings, and the mountains offer a stunning panoramic view – the time of the Salzburger Bauernherbst begins.
For 30 years, the Salzburger Bauernherbst has captivated tourists, visitors, and locals with living traditions, genuine customs, craftsmanship, music and culinary delights: 76 places in the Salzburg region are celebrating the anniversary with around 2,000 festivals and events. Under the motto "G’sungen und G’spielt", it will be more musical than ever – with folk music, singing, and lively festivals for everyone to enjoy and participate in.
The 30th Salzburger Bauernherbst will be officially opened on August 23, 2025, in a festive setting in Dorfgastein in the Gastein Valley.
The program includes a grand parade with decorated floats, performances by traditional dancers, Schuhplattler dancers, and folk dancers, a joint concert by three brass bands, and traditional craft demonstrations. Culinary specialties of alpine cuisine await at the Bauernherbst stalls and with local hosts, and a colorful children's program will keep the little ones entertained.
Until October 31, over 65 Bauernherbst events will take place in the 18 National Park municipalities: These include the big Nassfeld sheep drive in Bad Gastein, alpine cattle drives in Fusch and Krimml, farmers' markets, mountain masses, and the Mittersill Strudel Festival.
