Whether classic or skating, beginners or advanced cross-country skiers can expect impressive cross-country skiing pleasure in the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region.
The ADAC (General German Automobile Association) awarded the cross-country trail association five stars (out of five) for its excellent network of cross-country ski trails. Should there be a shortage of snow in the valley for once, high altitude trails such as the hill moor trail in Mittersill (22 km), the high altitude trail in Hochkrimml (12 km) or the sunshine trail in Sportgastein (8 km) provide viable alternatives. Wonderful views of the mighty 3,000-metre peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park are guaranteed.

Grossarl Valley
Grossarl trail from Grossarl to the Kösslerhäusl museum of local history and Hüttschlag-Trail from Hüttschlag-InnereWolfau south to the popular "Aschaustüberl" and continuing into the picturesque head of the valley to the national park inn "Talwirt" with a large parking lot, "Mountain Forest" exhibition and national park information point. The trails are laid out in classic style and most also have a skating track running parallel. Level of difficulty: medium, approx. 20 km
