The alpine pasture is an age-old cultural sphere, which has lost nothing in fascination to this day. While the cows and horses revel in the fresh summer air up here, it's all about the complete bundle of joy for hikers: Far away from the everyday hustle and bustle, all your worries seem to dissipate in the face of the splendid alpine panoramas and fragrant Pinzgau cheese dumplings. Nowhere is the alpine summer celebrated as earthy and traditionally as in and around the Hohe Tauern National Park. The alpine herdsmen and dairymen, who are often farming the same pastures since many generations, keep the spirit of the ancestors alive. Most work is done by hand: Everyday life is hard and also simple at the same time. Visitors and hikers, who are always welcome guests up here, get to sense this.
