Gastein Cable Cars

Variety in all facets

No matter if you're a sports fan or sociable holidaymaker, a family or seeking rest and relaxation, pleasure-seeker or youngster. Those looking for variety this summer in Gastein get on the Schlossalmbahn funicular, ride up to the upper terminus "KleineScharte" and are in for a surprise. Here, at around 2,050 metres above sea level, there are plenty of spots to rest and watch. Those who want can embark on a relaxing mountain hike or real alpine tour.Be it a children's playground, 5 different via ferratas, a slackline park for children and adults or simply or just some relaxing time out, here everyone will find their holiday joy.

The Stubnerkogel in Bad Gastein is making a name for itself as THE scenic mountain in Gastein: If in the beginning the 140-metre long suspension bridge, gently swaying in the wind, attracted plenty of attention, now an attractive viewing platform towers directly opposite with the apt name of "Glocknerblick" (Glockner View). It opens up fantastic views of Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner (3,798 m), to all visitors. To complete the alpine experience, it has been expanded with a rock path leading to a prominent viewpoint. In addition to the wonderful nature experience in the region around the Stubnerkogel summit, this also illustrated the dialogue between "nature" and "built space".

The Graukogel is known for its particularly beautiful and age-old Swiss pine population with some trees being almost 400 years old. As the Swiss pine was named Tree of the Year 2011, a 45-minute walk right by the upper terminus of the Graukogelbahn cable car is in order. Linger in idyllic spots, make use of the individual seating opportunities from Swiss pine to put in a short break or test our large outdoor pine-bed.
