Saddle-fast on two wheels into the high Alps.

In the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region, you can reach lofty heights even on the racing bike: The Grossglockner High Alpine Road with individual timekeeping is considered one of the superlatives among racing cyclists. On the 12.9 kilometre long route, 1,283 metres difference in altitude are negotiated from the Ferleiten toll booth toFuscherTörl. The FuscherTörl at 2,428 metres above sea level also offers stunning views of Austria's highest mountain and the surrounding 3,000 metre peaks. On the internet platform roadbike-holidays.com you'll find 23 racing bike routes for Pinzgau http://www.roadbike-holidays.com/rennradtouren-p49.html.

The Tauern (racing) cycleway is the new variant of the famous cycle route for the athletically somewhat more ambitious. If necessary, the route diverts to alternative sections better suited for racing cyclists. For example when the original Tauern cycle trail runs along gravelled roads. Thus now racing cyclists can also enjoy the cultural and optical treats which have for so long been impressing touring cyclists in the Hohe Tauern National Park.

The region was awarded the quality seal "approved bike area" by "Mountain Bike Holidays" for its excellent routes.
