FC Schalke 04
The partnership with the region from SalzburgerLand has existed since 2016
Planning security for the Königsblauen's pre-season preparations: FC Schalke 04 and the Austrian holiday region Hohe Tauern National Park GmbH are continuing their successful and mutually appreciated cooperation. The new agreement of the tourism partnership, which was first concluded in 2016, will run at least until 30 June 2023, including an option to extend.
An important part of the Knappen's summer preparation is the training camp in the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region. For the seventh time, the Knappen will hold their summer training camp in Mittersill in the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region in the province of Salzburg. During the nine-day stay in the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region (Saturday 8 July to Sunday 16 July 2023), up to two friendly matches are planned.
The holiday region in the south of Salzburg is home to the largest nature reserve in Central Europe, covering an area of almost 2,000 km². With 300 peaks over 3,000 metres, countless glaciers, waterfalls and mountain lakes, the Hohe Tauern National Park offers an unforgettable nature experience all year round, as well as one of the most beautiful panoramic roads in Europe, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
Schalke's Chairman of the Board, Dr. Bernd Schröder, is pleased about the continuation of the common path: "We are happy to be able to carry out our pre-season preparation in the beautiful Salzburger Land under optimal conditions again this year. We have only heard positive things from the club about the cooperation with the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region, which offers our fans attractive tourist attractions. Personally, I'm looking forward to my first training camp in Mittersill and getting to know the local people."
