Pomarium
The Pomarium at the Reitlbauer in Bramberg is ojne of the showcase projects in the Leader Region Hohe Tauern National Park. Since the cider press was acquired in Bramberg a few years ago and used with much success by locals, the apple project began to take shape thanks to the support of Tauriska: In addition to self-pressed apple juice, every child starting secondary modern school is given a small apple tree intended to accompany the child as a kind of tree of life. Apple bread from the bakery, apple bacon and apple lard from the butcher are further examples of this successful project. And now another piece in the mosaic was added with the Pomarium: Centuries old apple trees are made accessible to the public in the orchard of the Steiner family. Signs show which tree is bearing which apples as fruit. In spring we can delight in the trees flowering while in autumn apples are harvested and processed. But above all, the Reitlbauer provide a chance to learn about the types of trees available before getting an apple tree to put in your own garden.
